Welcome to Bare Balance!
The purpose of this site is to introduce to you some information and research that is changing the traditional ways of horse and hoof care. Bare Balance service is based on the principle that all things in relation to the horse can and do affect your horses hooves, overall health, and performance. My job is to work with you and your individual horses needs to create that balance. For your horse to achieve a healthy balance, and in turn top performance, several aspects of your horse care need to be evaluated. The path to barefoot success is built on these main factors, a non-invasive trim which promotes the use of proper hoof mechanics designed by nature, a diet which is constructed of high fiber and low sugar content to achieve optimal health and proper digestion. A horses digestive system is designed to process small amounts of food throughout the day/night. Movement and exercise is also a monumental contributor to barefoot success. By using proper hoof mechanics, exercise is the foundation for producing sound, healthy, strong hoofs. Hoof growth and production is accelerated by miles, not minutes! By following some clues from nature we can help keep our domestic horses mentally and physically sound. Every horse can benefit from this method of hoof and horse care.
We all want the very best care for our horses and there is no limit to the different opinions on the subject. As a horse owner myself I know it can be tremendously frustrating sifting through the conflicting theories of what is “right”. The best advise I can give you is to listen to all opinions, do as much research as possible and in the end use your own thinking skills and stick to what makes sense to you. This is why my business has evolved to natural hoof care. It just makes sense!
"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it."
